At Persona Biomed, we are committed to respecting the dignity, privacy, and autonomy of every patient. This page outlines your rights as a patient and describes the consent process required when using our diagnostic and digital services.
Your Rights as a Patient
1. Right to Information
You have the right to receive clear, accurate, and understandable information about the tests you order, including:
- Purpose of the test
- Risks and benefits
- Expected turnaround times
- Limitations of the analysis
You may request copies of your reports and educational materials at any time.
2. Right to Informed Consent
Before your sample is collected, you will be asked to provide informed consent acknowledging that:
- You understand the purpose and nature of the test.
- You consent to collection, processing, and storage of your sample and test results.
- You understand how your information will be used, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
3. Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
- All personal and health information is kept strictly confidential.
- Your data is protected under HIPAA (U.S.), GDPR (Europe), and other relevant laws.
- Results are only shared with your healthcare provider or other parties with your explicit authorization.
4. Right to Access Your Records
- You may access your records at any time through the secure patient portal.
- You may request a copy of your full report, including physician-ready technical details.
- You may also request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.
5. Right to Refuse or Withdraw Consent
- You have the right to refuse testing.
- You may withdraw consent for testing or data use at any time before analysis begins.
Please note: Once a sample has been processed, results become part of the permanent clinical record and may be subject to legal retention requirements.
6. Right to Second Opinions
- You have the right to consult with other healthcare providers regarding your results.
- Persona Biomed will provide complete reports that you may share with the physician or specialist of your choice.
7. Right to Complain or Appeal
If you believe your rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with Persona Biomed by contacting privacy@personabiomed.com.
You also have the right to escalate your complaint to the appropriate regulatory authorities.
Consent Process
Before Ordering a Test
You will be presented with a consent form during the ordering process, which must be signed digitally or in writing before sample collection.
During Sample Collection
A phlebotomist, lab technician, or affiliate partner will confirm your identity and consent before drawing your sample.
Data Use & Research Consent
You will have the option to provide separate consent for your anonymized data to be used in clinical research or product development.
Participation in research is voluntary and will never affect your ability to receive testing services.
Important Limitations
Persona Biomed tests are intended as diagnostic support tools and do not replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed physician.
By providing consent, you acknowledge that results are for informational and clinical support purposes and must be interpreted by a qualified healthcare provider.
